We are delighted to have Brenda coming back with even more for her second market this weekend.  She is going to be selling mummer gift tags and Christmas cards.  It's items like these that make the local community market so special.  They're perfect for sending a little piece of home to a Newfoundlander away, attached to some beautiful locally made jewellery

About the Artist
Brenda Crane is photographer located in St. John's NL. Her love for this province is reflected in her photography. She enjoys capturing photographs that give insight into Newfoundland culture, history, traditions and landscape. Her photographs often incorporate new ways of looking at old subjects. When she is not at home editing and preparing photos for market, she is usually out and about with her camera adding to her growing portfolio.

Jewellery at the Heart's Content Community Market

It takes a special talent to take an object that would normally be thrown out
or kicked aside,
and turn it into beautiful jewellery.

Natalie Jewellery
"My jewellery is handcrafted from a combination of found and modern materials.  The process of upcycling – rather than recycling – preserves the characteristics of the materials, adding a unique design element to each piece."

Have a look at Natalie's facebook page to see household copper pipe like you have never seen it before.  Amazing.

Katlyn's Jewellery Designs
"I create my sea glass peices with glass and pottery that I have found on the beach myself. They have all been smoothed and shaped by the ocean and made into jewellery the way that they had been found without any tampering or polishing. Most are done in wire wrapping designs and come in necklaces, pendants, and earrings."

I especially love Katlyn's wire designs around each stone.  Literally a piece of the rock from the rock.
